You wouldn’t buy the wrong house just because it was available right now.
When you know you have found the right house, you will usually wait a few extra days, weeks or even months to get it.
It has just the right combination of design, location, features and price for you !

You are going to be living in it for the next 3 – 5 – 10 years . . . so why would you settle for less?
Well, you wouldn’t !
Same goes for any major decision in life – a new car, a new job or business, a new partner.
It’s generally better in the long run not to settle for second best just because it is available now.
And the same goes for your website.
We recently lost a job because we would not promise to deliver a website in a time frame that we did not think was realistic.
It lost us the job, but at least we know that we did not mislead the client.
Unlike the other company who obviously promised to deliver the site at the specified time.
Well, I checked back each couple of days, and . . .
2 weeks OVERDUE . . . and still no website !
Only a single page with a logo and a few lines of text.
If the client was going to be satisfied with that, we could have easily put that together in just a couple of days for them !!
Because that is what it currently looked like! Something that was knocked up in a couple of days.
OK, so I am having a bit of a vent here.
But the point remains . . .
The Settlement Date for your house is only a minor issue when it is the right house for you and you are going to live there for so many years.
And the Delivery Date for your website is only a minor consideration when you will be using that website for the foreseeable future.
What you should be focusing on is the medium to long term benefits that the website will deliver.
- What you will get out of using it.
- How it will help your business to grow.
- The Business and Marketing Tools that you will have at your disposal in the website.
So, always evaluate all of the factors before making a decision to buy a website, and not just the delivery date which in the scheme of things is the least important of all the issues.
Well, that is quite simple really!
.
What should you do now?
- When you want a new website, be clear on what is important to you.
- And then check what functionality the website will deliver.
