Over the next 10 weeks our newsletter is focussing on how to . . .
Make Your Website a Sales Hub
The best websites are “Sales Hubs” that enable you to leverage all your sales and marketing efforts. I know that when you implement these 10 TIPS, your results will be astounding.
OK, so here is TIP #2
Use headlines on your web pages that promise benefits.
OK . . . you’d be surprised how many websites don’t do this simple thing.
FEATURES Vs BENEFITS
A Feature is something that your product has – like “a tyre that has extra grip”.
A Benefit is what that feature gives you – like “it protects your family”.
People are really only interested in the WIIFM – What’s In It For Me. They want to know what they will get out of using your product or service.
So don’t just put “Services” on your services page, but instead “Strategies to Increase Profits” or “Lower Running Costs” or whatever your key benefit is.
Getting clear on your USP will help you identify your benefits.
MAKE IT EASY TO READ
We mentioned this last week – make your website easy to read.
Use a standard font and font size.
Use bold text at the beginning of paragraphs.
Make Headings and Sub-headings stand out in an alternate color.
This will draw the eye and make your pages easier to read than solid black text. (You’ll notice we do this in our newsletters too.)
GUIDE YOUR VISITORS
Lead your reader to the next action you want them to take on the site. Don’t just leave them hanging there and wondering where to go next.
You have spent money to get them to your site, and they have invested time in finding you, so make the most of the opportunity.
If you want them to download a brochure – tell them.
If you want them to contact you now – tell them.
If you want them to but now – tell them.
Use bright buttons or images to tell them what to do next.
We will talk more about using a strong Call To Action on your website to get people to buy your product or service, or take whatever other action you want them to.
Make it informative, easy and fun to visit your site.
1. Listing Benefits, not only Features
2. Making your website easy to read and follow
3. Leading people through the steps you want them to take
If you know that your website doesn’t meet these criteria, then call us NOW and find out how we can help you achieve that.
