Time to Spring Clean your Facebook
There’s been a lot of stuff going down lately in Facebook.
And we think that it is time to spring clean your Facebook . . . and in particular look through the . . .
Apps that you have enabled on your Facebook account.
A lot of these will be perfectly harmless, and will not have done anything at all on your Facebook account.
Some of these will be very useful, helping you to interact with your Facebook friends.
And then there’s the 3rd Category !
There seems to be some Apps getting around that are offering some quite amazing options.
“Find out who is stalking you on Facebook.”
“Check who’s been viewing your posts.”
Facebook actually provides some of this information now, so there is no need to go loading extra Apps.
What we are seeing now is a rise in the “artificial” viral activity of some Apps.
They are sending invites to your Facebook friends.
And I say “artificial” viral activity, because in most cases;
- you did not initiate the action and
- the first you know about it is when your friends complain of being sent Spam invites by you.
This just happened to a friend of mine.
I received an invite from her about an App for Facebook, with a message suggesting is was a great App that I should get.
I contacted her to find out what it was about and she said . . .
“Hey Philip, not sure what you are talking about?”
So, I replied and showed her what I had received, to which she responded . . .
“ahh, I did join Uniinverse, but didn’t know it had done this, bloody app things!! these websites are getting a bit too feral”
What can you do?
Be very careful of what apps you authorise to access your Facebook account.
Go in and deactivate any that you are unsure of or do not use regularly.
Well, that is quite simple really!
What should you do now?
- Deactivate any apps that you do not use regularly.
- Want some help or ideas? Just contact us at Hotpink Websites now.
Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life.
