Do you maximise your marketing opportunities with email?
Every day you send out emails to people who you deal with regularly, people who you know casually in business, and to people you have never met before.
Your email signature is a powerful tool that says a lot about you and can be used for . . .
surreptitious lead generation.
But before we get into that, here are some tips on what a good email signature looks like.
You should note that it changes from time to time, as your message changes.
1. Do not use images
Images look pretty, but there are problems if your entire signature file is an image.
You cannot click on the website link or other individual links in the image, because it is not text.
And often, images are not included in forward or reply emails . . . so your contact details and your message are no longer there in the email.
2. Include your message
Work out what your main marketing objective or goal is, and add a Call To Action for that.

. . . . . . and now to the surreptitious lead generation.
3. The post script
A postscript (PS or P.S.) is writing added after the main body of a letter or other body of writing. The term comes from the Latin post scriptum, an expression meaning “written after”(which may be interpreted in the sense of “that which comes after the writing”).
A postscript may be a sentence, a paragraph, or occasionally many paragraphs added to, often hastily and incidentally, after the signature of a letter or (sometimes) the main body of an essay or book.
So, my post script says:
p.s. Is your website really working for you ?
And every so often, I get a reply like this:
Seeing your P.S. below reminded me of my need for a website.
Are you able to quote an informational website about 5 pages?
It is going to be for a development company.
OK – it worked !!
I got another one this week.
But does it cost me any extra money or effort to have it there? . . .
So . . .
Why not pick up those few extra leads and opportunities?
