If you have a fancy image file in your email signature, then you must read this! The internet is all about links. Actually they are called
” hyperlinks “
Links are important and fundamental to the internet.
It’s what makes surfing the internet so easy and so much fun.
With a click of your mouse button, you can automatically “link” through to somewhere else on the internet that is related or “linked to” what you are currently looking at.
Use links as much as you can.
The obvious place is on your website pages.
But here is one place that many people miss.
If you have a fancy image file in your email signature you must read this!
The image probably contains:
– your logo
– your business name
– your phone number
– your web address
But have you ever tried to click on a web address that is in an image?
It won’t link!
SO . . . with a simple change in your email program, you can turn the entire image into a link to your website.
And after all . . . don’t you want to make it easy for potential customers to get to your website from your email?
Yes, of course!
Ideally . . . make all of your contact details in text format in your email signature file, and not an image.
This makes it much easier to access and use that information.
e.g. copying your details into their Address Book
or… copying a street address to Google maps to find your location
and… most importantly, opening up your website
So what should you do now?
Check your email signature file
Make sure that it is helpful and easy to use the information that you provide in it.
Not sure or need a hand?
Reply to this email now and I will personally check it out for you, and give you some tips.
