Well, not really, but is it . . .
. . . the way that you use your phone that is killing sales?
How often have you been on the phone with some, whether business or personal and you get to the end of the call, and say your goodbyes, and then . . .
CLUNK ! !
It seems that no matter how gently they put down the phone, you get that terrible CLUNK in your ear!
So . . .
Yes, this has nothing to do with Websites, but everything to do with Marketing and Getting More Sales and Customers.
So thanks for staying with me on this one.
If you do that on a business call, did you ever wonder how your client or prospect feels?
They probably flinch a bit at the shock.
Maybe they don’t think about it consciously, but sub-consciously they have had a shock to the system – that you caused.
It happens because the handset hits the telephone body before the call is disconnected – simple as that.
And . . .
It is quite simple to fix:
- Always be the last to hang up.
- Use your finger to disconnect the call before replacing the handset.
Just don’t be in such a rush to end the call and get on with the next task.
p.s. Make sure that you do not start talking to someone else, (especially about the person you were just talking to!!), until well after you have hung up.
You just don’t know how many seconds the line stays open after you hang up.
What should you do now?
1. If you have staff, do some blind call checks on their telephone manner.
2. If it is just you, then check up on yourself.
