If you’re going to be successful online, like me, you will probably be spending a lot of time on the computer.
The same applies if you just spend a lot of time having fun on the computer, e.g. on Facebook.
And even if you don’t have a website, it’s possible that your work may involve a lot of computer time. It’s just a fact of life these days.
So – what’s the big problem?
Well . . .
It’s so easy to get engrossed in what is happening on the computer and totally loose track of time.
You might start with good posture, but after an hour or so at the computer, it’s likely that your posture will have deteriorated.
Over time, your muscles start to tense and lock into place with the repetitive key strokes. Your back may slouch as you slide lower and lower in your ergonomic office chair.
None of this bodes well for a healthy body or a healthy mind!
The end result is injuries, stress and general bad health.
SO . . . what can you do?
Take a break!
It’s as simple as that.
In fact, take lots of regular breaks.
Now, as much as you set the intention to take breaks, you will forget because computers have the magical power to suck you into their world !!
Have you ever lost track of time at a computer?
So use the computer to help you instead!
I use this online timer to remind me to get up and move around every 20 minutes.

But you could also use:
- the timer on your phone,
- an iPhone app,
- a stop-watch timer
- any alarm that will sound loudly enough to remind you to take a break.
Do it for your own health and well-being, and your productivity will increase dramatically.
After all, real success is not just about the money, is it?
