This is how to get on Page 1 of Google this afternoon !!
Not possible? Read on . . .
. . . for a quick summary of PPC or Pay Per Click Advertising on Google.
PPC is a form of Search Engine Marketing SEM where you pay Google to get on page 1 immediately.
What you will pay depends on how common or popular are the keywords that you want to advertise under. It could be as little as 50c per click or as much as $10 or $100.
You only pay Google when someone clicks on your advert in Google, so no clicks = no cost. But of course, the idea is to make your adverts attractive so that lots of the right people click on your advert and go to your website.
You can set a daily spend limit, so that once that limit is reached your advert disappears off the Google page.
Using PPC adverts in Google, you can get traffic to your site as quickly as you can set up your Google account. But you have to know what you are doing with your keywords otherwise you will get no clicks, or worse still, lots of clicks that are not relevant to your website.
PPC is a good way to quickly generate traffic, but in the long run, you want to also develop a high page ranking for your website, so that Google puts you high in the organic listings, (i.e. the free listings in Google).
Because when you stop paying for PPC advertising your traffic from that source stops immediately. But with a high page ranking you can continue to get traffic.
