Probably one of the best things I learned was Getting an Attitude of Gratitude.
When the movie “The Secret” first came out, “Gratitude” became the buzz word and . . .
the thing to be, do and have !
At the time, I wasn’t very good at doing Gratitude.
And that was probably because I wasn’t feeling Gratitude.
Nor had I learned much about it.
But, I found an amazingly simple way to learn Gratitude.
Fake it ’til you make it !
How many times haven’t we heard that advice.
Sounded a bit odd and artificial, but I thought I’d give it a try.
I started by just saying things like, “I am grateful for food on my plate”, or “. . . for the beautiful weather”.
I did this for a while, and one day I realised that I did actually feel grateful for these things, and many others.
“The Secret” actually works !
What I found was that . . .
the more things I felt grateful for, the more of those wonderful things that I had in my life.
It works . . .
Now, I have found a new way of learning Gratitude that also revolves around the daily act of practising Gratitude.
Each day, think of someone who you would like to thank, (be grateful to).
Then send them a greeting card to expresses that sentiment.
It doesn’t have to be a big waffly, emotional statement.
“Thanks for being around”
is quite enough to say.
Here is a simple way to get started.
What is the Gratitude Challenge?
