How are you getting double the work?
Here’s a new twist on the current buzz to be available on mobile devices.
I have noticed people advertising to create a mobile VERSION of your website.
Which means that you now have TWO places to update . . .
all of your business information.
These guys will take the content from your existing website . . .
. . . and then create a whole new website that can be viewed on tablets and smart phones.
They generally work quite well on smart phones and tablets.
But here is the problem with that . . .
You now have TWO websites to maintain instead of just one!
You have your existing website PLUS the new mobile website.
It just doesn’t make sense to me, because you have more than doubled your workload in maintaining your online presence.
Not only do you have two places to update information . . .
but you have to ensure that they are always saying the same things in both places.
The solution, of course, is to start with a website that works properly on mobile devices in the first place!
And that is what we do at Hotpink Websites.
We integrate mobile compatibility seamlessly into the main website as we build it for you.
This works perfectly on computers and Macs AND on tablets and smartphones.
So all your online information is stored in ONE place, and only updated in ONE place.
Yet it is fully compatible with tablets and smart phones.
The website software automatically detects the size of the screen being used and displays the website accordingly.
Makes life so much simpler 😀
And yes . . . that is quite simple really!
.
What should you do now?
- If you want to go mobile with your website, make sure you have just ONE website.
- Want some help or ideas? Just contact us at Hotpink Websites now.

It’s an ok tour bus and all, but people see Book Mobile on the side and come up and ask us if we have any books to sell. I mean how stupid is that….books? We don’t even read.

Hi Bill
Sorry that you had that experience, but generally the links all work. Over time, we cannot control when a page becomes unavailable on another site, and we regularly check for this.
There are multiple reasons for doing it, including:
– our readers find them interesting
– so more people read our posts
– they help with traffic generation
and the more traffic to a website, the better.
