We recently sent this newsletter to attendees of our SEO bootcamp, and the response was so great that we decided to send it to all of our newsletter subscribers.
Hope that you get as much value from it as they did.
Here’s a tip that will save you a lot of stress and effort when it comes time to redevelop your website, or even make minor upgrades.
One challenge our clients have when it comes to redeveloping an existing website, and particularly for building a new website, is
CREATING CONTENT
This gets left until the last minute and then there is a huge rush because they want the website live “last week” for some event or launch.
The clients who have their content prepared invariably get their website completed quickest!
So this is what we suggest you do:
1. Create a new folder in your My Documents called “New Website Ideas”, (using Windows Explorer or Mac Finder)
2. Add new subfolders called
– images
– ebooks
– videos
– webpages
– etc
3. Everytime that you get an idea, find an image or video, or create some advertising material that you think could be useful for your website, put a copy of the file into one of these folders.
4. When you come across a website that has a feature that you specifically like or do not like, copy the URL (www address) into a Word document with a few comments about why you are recording it, and keep this word document in your “New Website Ideas” folder.
This will take a little bit of discipline, especially if you are not a filing type of person!!
But, I promise you that there are HUGE REWARDS at the other end when you are ready to work on your website.
It will just be so much EASIER! So, help your self to help your self !!
A couple minutes here and there along the way will save you heaps of effort later.
